Man who threatened police jailed on 2013 warrant

From Local Sources

JASPER — A man alleged to have threatened an Indiana State Police trooper in 2013 was booked Tuesday evening into the Dubois County Security Center on the active felony warrant that resulted from the incident.

Billy D. Perry Jr., 47, Chicago, Illinois, is alleged to have contacted the Jasper post on Aug. 1, 2013, at which time he made threats toward a trooper and other police officers in the area.

Perry allegedly threatened to kill a trooper with whom he’d had an ongoing problem, said he would be armed and ready to act if approached and indicated he could get in and out of the country undetected because he was a pilot, according to court documents. Court documents allege Perry had called the Bloomington post July 26, 2013, making similar statements about the trooper in a grudge that lingered from a stalking investigation about five years previous.

Authorities say Perry was transported Tuesday from Chicago on the Dubois Circuit Court warrant charging him with a Class D felony count of intimidation. He was booked into jail at 5:06 p.m.
