Man to appear in criminal mischief case

From Local Sources

JASPER — Authorities brought a man from Washington County to the Dubois County Security Center on a failure-to-appear warrant in a criminal mischief case Wednesday.

Daniel M. Wheeler, 29, Salem, was accused of damaging walls, a door, latticework and a cabinet at a Huntingburg apartment in September 2017, in a case investigated by the Huntingburg Police Department.

Wheeler was summoned into Dubois Superior Court to answer to a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief but he never appeared, prompting the issuance of a warrant for his arrest in December 2017.

Authorities booked Wheeler into the Dubois County Security Center at 10 p.m. Wednesday on the active warrant.
