FERDINAND — Police arrested a woman Sunday night after she allegedly stabbed a man with a paring knife and chased him with a baseball bat.
The Ferdinand Police Department was dispatched to the report of a domestic battery at 8:40 p.m.
Police say a male victim had been stabbed in his right leg with a kitchen paring knife and chased with a baseball bat. The suspect was identified as Stephanie J. Petit, 24, 624 W. Ninth St.
Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services arrived to treat the victim, who declined to be transported, according to police.
Ferdinand police, assisted by the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police, located Petit nearby and took her into custody.
Authorities booked Petit into the Dubois County Security Center on preliminary charges that include a Level 6 felony count of domestic battery with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor counts of public intoxication and criminal mischief.
Her blood alcohol level allegedly tested .10 percent.
