Man passes out in truck, gets OWIJuly 29, 2019

JASPER — An impaired driving arrest followed a report early Saturday of a man who was unconscious in his vehicle.
Jasper Police Department officers called at 2:53 a.m. to Truman Road and Sixth Street reported finding Logan M. Kern, 28, 1584 W. Division Road, Jasper, passed out behind the wheel of a running Ford Ranger.
Police who detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage administered field sobriety testing. Police said Kern’s blood alcohol content tested .176% on a certified breath test.
Authorities booked Kern into the Dubois County Security Center at 4:04 a.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated. Kern posted bond Saturday afternoon.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office and a Bob Luegers Motors wrecker assisted.
