Man named in 2nd failure-to-return warrant

JASPER — A man in court Monday after being arrested last month on a failure-to-return warrant was served with a new warrant accusing him of an additional count of failing to return to lawful detention.

Sean M. Lemond, 32, 318 W. 13th St., Jasper, was originally charged for a major violation of home detention rules. He was booked into the Dubois County Security Center Sept. 25 and posted bond two days later.

In such cases, according to authorities, a participant on home detention must come back to the Dubois County Community Corrections Center to be placed back on home detention. Lemond did not do so, which resulted in a new warrant charging him with Level 6 felony counts of escape and failure to return to lawful detention.

Lemond was booked into the security center at 9:58 a.m. Monday on the new charges. He remains lodged there on a $2,500 bond.
