Man jailed on trespassing, public intoxication accusations

JASPER — A patient refusing to move on after being discharged from the hospital Thursday afternoon was eventually taken to jail.

The Jasper Police Department was called to a trespassing complaint at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center at 4:03 p.m.

Brandon M. Zink, 43, whose address was not immediately known, had allegedly tested positive for drugs in his system before being discharged, and then refusing to leave the property, according to authorities.

Police reported Zink was unable to answer questions at the scene, and was unsteady to the point that security officers had to pull him back to keep Zink from walking out into the street.

Authorities booked Zink into the Dubois County Security Center at 5:08 p.m. on preliminary misdemeanor counts of public intoxication and trespassing.
