JASPER — A Jasper man appeared in Dubois Superior Court on Wednesday to answer to a warrant charging him with theft.
Court documents allege Colt D. Eckert, 23, 1449 Dewey St., Jasper, exerted unauthorized control of another person’s $120 in cash and an iPhone 6 in an incident that occurred Dec. 26, 2018.
The reported crime was investigated by the Jasper Police Department and a warrant charging Eckert with a misdemeanor count of theft was issued Jan. 10.
Authorities booked Eckert into the security center at 8:02 a.m. Tuesday on the active warrant.
During his court appearance Wednesday, the court granted Eckert’s request for pauper counsel, set his bond at $1,000 cash only and scheduled his next court appearance for April 8.
