Man jailed in felony driving offense

From local sources

JASPER — The Jasper Police Department arrested a man Wednesday night and accused him of driving while having a license status of habitual traffic violator.

A Jasper officer initiated a traffic stop of a 2003 Nissan Altima driven by Corey C. Peters, 46, 1507 Vine St., Jasper, at 9:30 p.m. because the vehicle did not have functioning headlights or taillights at that time.

Police say Peters had an Indiana identification card and his license was suspended with a status of habitual traffic violator.

Authorities booked Peters into the Dubois County Security Center at 9:58 p.m. on a preliminary Level 6 felony count of driving while classified as a habitual traffic violator.
