SCHNELLVILLE — Authorities accused a man of impaired driving, obstruction of justice and driving while suspended after a Wednesday night accident west of Schnellville.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office responded at 8:20 p.m. when it was reported that a truck had struck a basement house off Schnellville Road near Celestine Road South.
Police allege Kevin G. Mundy, 55, 1838 Holiday Lake Road, Ferdinand, who was driving the 1997 Dodge Dakota involved in the accident, showed signs of intoxication but refused all testing, even after a warrant was sought and granted requesting samples.
Authorities booked Mundy into the Dubois County Security Center at 12:15 a.m. Thursday on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony obstruction of justice and misdemeanor operating while intoxicated (test refusal) and driving while suspended (prior).
Mundy posted bond Thursday evening.
Damage estimates related to the accident were not immediately available.
