Man in custody on warrant in drug-related case

From Local Sources

JASPER — A Gibson County man was booked early today into the Dubois County Security Center on a warrant ordering him to appear in a marijuana and paraphernalia case.

Levi C. Beck, 33, Francisco, was charged with misdemeanor counts of marijuana possession and possession of paraphernalia this spring and given an April date to appear in Dubois Superior Court. He made his initial appearance in April but then failed to appear at two subsequent court dates, leading to the issuance Aug. 14 of a failure to appear warrant.

The case against Beck was investigated by the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department in March after a report that Beck was attempting to deal marijuana at a Jasper apartment complex.

A sheriff’s deputy and Jasper Police Department officer responded to the complex March 22 and allegedly found Beck in possession of two smoking pipes and 2 grams of marijuana.

Beck was in the custody of Pike County authorities when a Dubois County deputy brought him to the Dubois County Security Center today for a 1:59 a.m. book-in on the active warrant.
