PETERSBURG — A Dubois man was formally charged with drug offenses last week in Pike County as the result of a traffic stop.
Christopher Freyberger, 33, 8495 E. State Road 56, Dubois, is charged in Pike Circuit Court with Level 6 felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
Court documents indicate the charges stem from a July 3 traffic stop by the Petersburg Police Department.
Police stopped a Pontiac driven by Freyberger at 1:24 a.m. after an officer observed it cross the centerline on State Road 356 three times. The officer reported finding a glass pipe containing a white, crystal-like substance and burnt residue in a bag in the vehicle’s trunk. Freyberger was taken to the Pike County Jail at that time after the crystal-like substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.
After posting bond, Freyberger’s initial hearing was scheduled for Aug. 4.
