JASPER — A 24-year-old Loogootee man faces a felony charge after allegedly battering a 9-month-old boy.
Authorities say Arvel R. Griffey Jr. battered the child in a car while Griffey was being taken back to the Dubois County Community Corrections Center. The young boy’s injury caused his genitalia to bleed and swell, according to the Indiana State Police.
Griffey was booked into the Dubois County Security Center just before 8 p.m. Friday on suspicion of battery resulting in serious bodily injury to a person less than 14 years of age.
