A Ferdinand man already incarcerated on child molestation and child seduction charges is now also being charged with possession of child pornography.
According to a news release from the Dubois County Sheriff's Office, Nathan C. Albrecht, 27, 1705 Main St., Ferdinand, faces additional charges after a cellphone and other digital storage items were seized and examined after a search warrant was sought and granted. Those devices held nearly 15,000 videos or photographs of child pornography.
Ferdinand police had opened an investigation Aug. 20 after receiving an initial report of child abuse. After thoroughly investigating, Albrecht was arrested on three Level 1 felony counts of child molestation and three Level 2 felony counts of child seduction.
He now also faces a Level 6 felony count of possession of child pornography.
The Dubois County Sheriff's Office has been assisted by the Jasper City Police Department, Ferdinand Police Department, the Huntingburg Police Department, the Dubois County Prosecutor's Office, the Indiana Department of Family and Children Services and the Southwestern Indiana Child Advocacy Center Coalition during the course of this investigation.
