Man charged with Walmart shoplifting

JASPER — Police booked a man into jail this week on a warrant charging him with two felony counts of theft.

The Jasper Police Department began an investigation in July 2019, after it was alleged Felix M. Colon Rodriguez, 26, 258 Baden Strasse, Jasper, had stolen gaming system components and video games in two incidents at the Walmart Supercenter, 4040 N. Newton St. The amounts of the thefts reported in court documents was $1,187.06 and $999.78.

The investigation resulted in a warrant for two Level 6 felony counts of theft being issued for Colon Rodriguez’s arrest out of Dubois Superior Court.

Authorities booked Colon Rodriguez into the Dubois County Security Center Sunday on the active warrant. After an initial hearing Monday, Colon Rodriguez posted a $750 bond.
