JASPER — Authorities served a warrant this week on a man already incarcerated in the Dubois County Security Center.
Carl F. Young, 53, 601 E. First St., Huntingburg, has been at the county jail since Feb. 7 after being arrested for impaired driving.
On Tuesday, Young was served with a warrant charging him with a Level 6 felony count of unlawful possession of a syringe.
Charging information alleges that on Nov. 7, Young illegally possessed a syringe in an incident investigated by the Huntingburg Police Department.
The investigation resulted in a warrant being issued Feb. 21 out of Dubois Superior Court.
During an initial hearing Wednesday, the court granted Young’s request for a speedy trial and scheduled his next hearing for March 9.
