From Local Sources
JASPER — Authorities booked a Martin County man into jail Tuesday on a warrant charging him with burglary and theft.
Court documents allege that, on Sept. 30, Andy R. Holt, 41, Shoals, took between $450 and $500 in cash from the Jasper Swap Shop, 497 Third Ave.
The case was investigated by the Jasper Police Department and, on Sept. 24, a warrant was issued out of Dubois Circuit Court charging Holt with a Level 5 felony count of burglary and a misdemeanor count of theft.
Authorities have also filed a notice of intent to seek habitual offender status in the case because Holt has prior convictions in Martin County for receiving stolen property and burglary.
During an initial hearing Wednesday, Holt’s next court date was set for Feb. 18, his bond was confirmed at $5,000 cash only and he was returned to Knox County, where he had been in custody.
