Man charged with false informing, vehicle-entry counts

From Local Sources

JASPER — Authorities booked a man into the Dubois County Security Center late Wednesday night on an active warrant charging him with criminal trespass, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle and false informing (two counts).

Court documents indicate the charges stem from an October burglary report investigated by the Jasper Police Department. During the investigation, Jacob D. Furman, 31, Petersburg, is alleged to have given incorrect identifying information to police on two occasions.

An affidavit that led to a four-count arrest warrant being issued out of Dubois Circuit Court stated Furman has demonstrated a penchant for eluding law enforcement on a consistent basis, both in running away, hiding from and providing false information to law enforcement.

Authorities booked Furman into the Dubois County Security Center at 11:48 p.m. Wednesday on the active warrant.
