Man charged in Walmart thefts

JASPER — Authorities booked a man into jail Tuesday on a warrant charging him with theft from the Walmart Supercenter, 4040 N. Newton St.

Charging information alleges that Steven B. Beasley, 37, Mt. Carmel, Illinois, took $1,345.96 worth of various items of Walmart merchandise Nov. 19, and on Nov. 27, took $932.42 in merchandise from the store.

The Jasper Police Department investigated, which resulted in a warrants being issued in Dubois Superior Court charging Beasley with Level 6 felony counts of theft.

Authorities booked Beasley into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:36 p.m. Tuesday on the active warrants.
