JASPER — Authorities booked a Jasper man into jail during the weekend on a warrant charging him with multiple counts of theft and criminal mischief.
Clint W. Utzman, 45, Jasper, is alleged to have taken items from the Walmart Supercenter on three dates in January, damaging packaging in the process. Items taken included two $99.99 JBL Bluetooth speakers, a $21.96 women’s jacket, a $64 pair of Bluetooth earbuds and a $49.97 Norelco razor, according to charging documents.
The Jasper Police Department investigated, and on March 4, a warrant was issued out of Dubois Superior Court charging Utzman with three Level 6 felony counts of theft and three misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief. The theft counts are enhanced to felonies based on a prior conviction for the offense, according to authorities.
Authorities booked Utzman into the Dubois County Security Center at 6:34 p.m. Saturday on the active warrant.
