JASPER — A Vanderburgh County man was booked Monday into the Dubois County Security Center on a 2016 robbery-with-injury warrant.
William H. Stewart Jr., 29, Evansville, is charged in Dubois Circuit Court with Level 2 and 3 counts of aiding, inducing or causing attempted robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and two Level 5 felony counts of battery by means of a deadly weapon.
Court documents indicate the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case in which two men reported being robbed on May 23, 2016. One of the robbers allegedly had a shotgun and both victims suffered injury, with one being struck in the head with a bat.
The investigation resulted in warrants for the arrest of Stewart and Kavonna S. Anderson, 24, also of Evansville, being issued on June 28, 2016.
Anderson was jailed in Dubois County on her warrant in February and, in July, entered a written plea agreement in which she pleaded guilty to two Level 5 felony robbery counts. She was sentenced to 730 days in the Indiana Department of Correction to be followed by 730 days of supervised probation.
