JASPER — Police took a man into custody Monday on allegations of rape, criminal confinement and dissemination of matter harmful to minors.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department and Jasper Police Department began an investigation at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center at 7 p.m. after a report by a female juvenile of incidents of rape spanning a two-month period.
Law enforcement sought and obtained a search warrant for the apartment of Juan A. Bo Guitz, 33, 675 Giesler Road.
Juan Bo Guitz was taken into custody at his place of employment, according to police.
Authorities booked Juan Bo Guitz into the Dubois County Security Center at 11:43 p.m. He was preliminarily charged with four Level 3 felony counts of rape and Level 6 felony counts of criminal confinement and dissemination of matter harmful to minors.
During the investigation, it was also alleged another resident of the apartment at 675 Giesler Road, Jose A. Bo Guitz, 38, had struck the juvenile victim in the lower back with a belt Monday. Police took Jose Bo Guitz into custody at his place of employment and booked him into the Dubois County Security Center at 12:34 a.m. today. He was preliminarily charged with a misdemeanor count of battery.
