Man arrested for theft, drug possessionSeptember 14, 2020

JASPER — City police arrested a Jasper man Friday on theft and drug charges.
Tommy L. Critchfield, 50, was charged with theft with a prior conviction and possession of a syringe, both Level 6 felonies, possession of methamphetamine, a Level 5 felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.
Police received a report of theft from a local business at 2:35 p.m. Friday. During the investigation, police officers recognized Critchfield in a surveillance video, and obtained a search warrant of Critchfield’s residence. Officers found at the residence the stolen item as well as methamphetamine and paraphernalia, police said.
Critchfield was taken into custody Friday and lodged at the Dubois County Security Center.
Jasper Police were assisted by the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office and the Dubois County Prosecutor’s Office.
