Man arrested for batteryJuly 13, 2021

JASPER — City police arrested a Jasper man Monday morning for fighting and injuring an elderly man.
Donald E. Zirnheld, 63, was charged with battery with bodily injury.
Police were called to 660 Rumbach Ave. at 9:04 a.m. in reference to a battery. Police learned that Zirnheld and an elderly male had a verbal argument that become physical.
After investigating, it was discovered that Zirnheld had battered and injured the man, police said. The elderly victim was taken to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center by EMS for the injuries.
Zirnheld was arrested and taken to the Dubois County Security Center.
