Man arrested for battery

JASPER — A Jasper man was arrested Wednesday evening following a domestic disturbance on North Portersville Road.
Jace J. Goepfrich, 25, 3828 N. Portersville Road, was charged with strangulation, a Level 6 felony, domestic battery and possession of marijuana, both Class A misdemeanors, possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
Jasper Police received a call at 6:30 p.m. about a domestic dispute at the Portersville address. When officers arrived, Goepfrich had left the residence by foot, police reported. They were told that Goepfrich had choked a female at the residence; she refused treatment.
