Man arrested for assaultAugust 27, 2021

JASPER — A Jasper man was arrested Thursday afternoon for assaulting a restaurant employee following an argument at the restaurant.
Crandle K.L. Presnel, 43, was charged with battery with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct.
Jasper Police were called to Miranda’s Restaurant, 1338 Newton St., at 4 p.m. pertaining to a fight that happened inside the restaurant.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect, Presnel, got into a verbal disagreement with the employee. He went behind the counter of the restaurant’s store and began punching and kicking the employee in the groin area, police reported. Presnel then grabbed a wooden-handle broom and began striking the employee’s head and body several times, police said. Presnel then left the store.
Presnel surrendered to police without incident. He was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
