LOOGOOTEE — A Loogootee man faces mutiple felony drug charges after a Martin County Sheriff’s Office investigation Thursday involving the sale of narcotics.
Sheriff’s Office Cpl. Tyler Reed began the investigation and he and multiple plain-clothed officers observed Zane A. Sanders, 19, Loogootee, sell narcotics to an individual. After the transaction was completed, Sanders was arrested and drugs were recovered.
Reed applied for a search warrant for Sanders’ residence and once granted, the officer executed the search warrant at approximately 10:30 p.m. Thursday. Officers recovered marijuana, cannabis edibles, THC vape cartridges, cocaine, controlled substances, multiple small plastic baggies commonly used to package narcotics, scales, alcohol, and paraphernalia during the search.
The entire investigation resulted in the seizure of 67 THC vape cartridges, 200 grams of marijuana, seven bags of cannabis edibles, a small amount of cocaine, paraphernalia, and two controlled substances.
Sanders was lodged in the Martin County Security Center Thursday on a Level 5 felony charge of dealing cocaine, Level 6 felony charge of possession of cocaine and misdemeanor charges for dealing in marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlle substance, illegal possession of alcohol by a minor and possession of paraphernalia.
