HUNTINGBURG — The Huntingburg Police Department arrested a Huntingburg man Friday afternoon who had skipped out on work release late last month.
Officers responded to a 4:50 p.m. call regarding theft at the Hometown IGA, where they were advised by an employee that an individual had fled on foot down a nearby alleyway.
Officers located Wyatt Jenkins, 18, in the 1000 block of North Main Street. After further investigation, it was determined that Jenkins had stolen $2 worth of Pop-Tarts from the IGA and was arrested for theft, a D felony.
Jenkins was also arrested on a warrant for failing to return to community corrections, another D felony.
Authorities booked Jenkins into the Dubois County Security Center shortly after 6 p.m. on charges of theft and failing to return.
