Man accused of striking another

JASPER — Police took a man into custody Wednesday after being called to a domestic in progress.
The Jasper Police Department was called to apartments in the 600 block of Village Court at 11:59 a.m.
Upon arriving, officers encountered a male bleeding from the head. The person declined medical assistance at the scene from Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services, police said.
After investigating, police said they determined Ruben S. Morales Cruz, 21, 655 Village Court, had struck the male, causing the injury.
Authorities booked Morales Cruz into the Dubois County Security Center at 2:41 p.m. on a preliminary Level 6 felony count of domestic battery resulting in moderate injury.
