Man accused of St. Vincent de Paul theft

JASPER — A Thursday report of a theft from the St. Vincent de Paul store drop box at 1402 S. Meridian Road resulted in an arrest.

The value of items including a leather coat that were taken the previous night was estimated between $50 and $60, according to authorities. The police investigation that led to the arrest of James A. Young Jr., 54, 601 E. First St., Huntingburg, was aided by video surveillance.

Authorities booked Young into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:46 p.m. Thursday on a preliminary misdemeanor count of theft.
