Man accused of resisting, minor consuming

From Local Sources

JASPER — A traffic stop early Sunday resulted in a Pike County man’s arrest after authorities said he ran from police.

The Jasper Police Department was responding to a complaint at 12:10 a.m. when an officer stopped a pickup truck after the driver failed to stop at Keusch Lane and Pebble Drive.

Police who noticed the odor of an alcoholic beverage reported that one of the passengers, Alex J. Lawyer, 20, Winslow, ran from the scene on foot. An officer who later met up with Lawyer said his blood alcohol content tested .109% on a portable breath test.

Authorities booked Lawyer into the Dubois County Security Center at 6:04 a.m. Sunday on preliminary misdemeanor counts of resisting law enforcement and minor consuming.
