JASPER — A Saturday morning report about a possible intoxicated driver resulted in a man’s arrest on multiple preliminary charges.
The Jasper Police Department was notified at 10:30 a.m. about a pickup truck on Newton Street approaching 14th Street that was all over the roadway and driving onto the sidewalk.
Officers located the vehicle, a 2000 Ford F-150, and initiated a traffic stop in the 900 block of Mill Street.
Police allege the driver, Caleb J. Hundley, 24, 923 Mill St., Jasper, was intoxicated with a blood alcohol content that tested .145% in a certified breath test at the Jasper Police Station.
Hundley was transported to the Dubois County Security Center where, according to authorities, a small plastic baggy with a crystal-like substance was located in one of his socks. The substance was taken to the Jasper Police Station where it field tested positive as methamphetamine.
Authorities booked Hundley into the security center at 1:26 p.m. Saturday on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony possession of methamphetamine, Level 5 felony trafficking into a correctional facility and misdemeanor operating while intoxicated.
