Man accused of marijuana, paraphernalia possession

JASPER — Police ultimately placed a man into custody after being called early Saturday to a noise complaint in the 300 block of East 14th Street.

A Jasper Police Department officer answering the 12:03 a.m. complaint reported detecting the odor of burnt marijuana at the residence in question.

When a consent to search was refused, police sought and received a search warrant that resulted in the discovery of marijuana and paraphernalia that included two grinders, a glass smoking bong, a digital scale and a glass smoking pipe.

Following the search, police arrested Dante C. Bachoco Dotterweich, 20, 326 E. 14th St., Jasper, and lodged him in the Dubois County Security Center at 4:32 a.m. on preliminary misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He posted bond a short time later.
