JASPER — Police placed a man under arrest after being asked early Saturday to assist the Jasper Jaycees near the southeast corner of the Strassenfest beer garden.
The request to the Jasper Police Department at 12:35 a.m. reported a male urinating on a building and being verbally abusive with beer garden workers. Officers observed the subject leaving the area and made contact with Tokala Richardson, 20, of Loogootee.
Police said Richardson was stumbling in the roadway near the intersection of Fourth and Jackson streets.
Richardson’s blood alcohol content tested .29% on a portable breath test, police said
After being medically cleared at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center for his level of intoxication, Richardson was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:49 a.m. on preliminary misdemeanor counts of public intoxication, disorderly conduct and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. Richardson posted bond at 10:20 p.m. Saturday.
