From Local Sources

HUNTINGBURG — The Huntingburg Police Department placed a man under arrest Tuesday and accused him of felony theft.

The arrest of Travis L. Summers, 26, 102 W. 20th St., came after a complainant came to police about fraudulent activity on his bank account that totaled a loss of $1,668.35. The victim’s bank card had been used for alleged fraudulent purchases from multiple vendors that included Amazon, Rent-A-Center and Geico Auto.

The victim was reported to have allowed Summers at one time to use his bank card but the card allegedly was used without his knowledge or permission to make the purchases at the center of the current criminal case.

Authorities booked Summers into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:37 p.m. on a preliminary Level 6 felony count of theft. He posted bond a short time later.
