JASPER — A report Saturday night reporting a domestic battery resulted in preliminary felony charges.
The Jasper Police Department was contacted at 9:08 p.m. by security at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center because a female being checked there wished to report an alleged domestic battery.
Police say the victim had visible injuries, was pregnant and had a female friend who was a witness to the events that had occurred earlier that evening.
The suspect, Tyson V. Paris, 23, 4164 Pinehurst Drive, was located and taken into custody by Jasper police.
Authorities booked Paris into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:28 a.m. Sunday on two preliminary Level 5 felony counts of domestic battery.
