Man accused of domestic battery, resisting

HUNTINGBURG — Police took a man into custody after being called late Friday night to the report of a domestic battery that had occurred.
Officers responding to the 11:29 p.m. report indicated the female complainant was transported to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center for a complaint of chest pain.
The suspect, Balmer E. Salazar, 34, 306 W. 20th St., Huntingburg, had reportedly left on foot but was later located returning to the scene.
Authorities booked Salazar into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:32 a.m. Saturday on preliminary misdemeanor counts of domestic battery and resisting law enforcement.
