Man accused of confinement, domestic battery

JASPER — A report Saturday evening of a domestic dispute brought a man’s arrest on allegations of domestic battery, criminal confinement and interference with the reporting of a crime.
Jasper Police Department officers responding at 7:10 p.m. made contact with a female complainant who had visible injury. The woman alleged Jacob W. Volz, 50, 560 Charlotte Ave., Jasper, had confined her and had taken her cellphone during the incident.
Officers who investigated arrested Volz at his residence.
Authorities booked Volz into the Dubois County Security Center at 11:31 p.m. on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony domestic battery and criminal confinement plus misdemeanor interference with the reporting of a crime.
