HUNTINGBURG — A Holland man was arrested and accused of battery and disorderly conduct Monday night.
The Huntingburg Police Department was called to the vicinity of Fourth and Walnut streets at 10:27 p.m. when it was reported an intoxicated male was attempting to leave in a vehicle.
Police arrived and made contact with Travis R. Leistner, 28, 10086 S. State Road 161, who was outside of his vehicle.
Authorities attempted to find a ride home for Leistner but, when family arrived, words were exchanged and Leistner began to push a male family member, according to police.
Officers quickly detained Leistner, whose blood alcohol content tested .293 percent, according to authorities.
After being medically cleared at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center for his level of intoxication, Leistner was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday on preliminary misdemeanor counts of battery and disorderly conduct.
