FERDINAND — A man named in a Friday warrant for allegedly failing to return to lawful detention was located and jailed before the weekend was out.

Adam P. Mehling, 28, 512 E. 23rd St., Ferdinand, was serving a court-ordered sentence on work release when he failed to return to the Dubois County Community Corrections Center Oct. 30, according to court documents.

A Dubois Circuit Court warrant for his arrest was issued Friday.

On Sunday evening, while at the Wendy’s restaurant in Ferdinand, a Dubois County Sheriff’s Department was asked to check on a man sleeping there. The individual was determined to be Mehling, according to the sheriff’s department.
