FERDINAND — A mail delivery vehicle struck a properly parked, unattended SUV Monday afternoon in the Dollar General parking lot at 1801 State Road 162.
Beth A. Hoffman, 52, Ferdinand, was in the store lot in a 1992 Chevrolet owned by the U.S. Postal Service at the time of the 12:50 p.m. mishap, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Hoffman had left a mailbox at the site and started a left turn in the parking lot when her vehicle struck the front of a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse owned by Hillarie J. Schmett, Huntingburg, according to the sheriff’s office.
Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
