JASPER — One person was injured in a Monday evening accident on the parking lot of the Germantown Shopping Center.
Joy Jeffries, 48, of Jasper, complained of pain on her right side, but was not transported to the hospital by EMS, Jasper Police said in its report on the accident. She was a passenger in the 2019 Dodge Journey, which was driven by Larry D. Jeffries, 50, of Jasper.
At 6:25 p.m., Joseph L. Chambers, 32, of St. Anthony was driving his 2017 Dodge Charger south on the parking lot and pulled up a stop at the north entrance. He told police that he did not see any approaching vehicles, and attempted to continue south.
At that time, Jeffries was driving across Newton Street and entering the parking lot at the same entrance, police said. Jeffries told police that has he was entering, his vehicle was struck by Chamber’s vehicle, police reported.
Vehicle damages included $8,000 to Jeffries’ Journey and $5,000 to Chambers’ Charger. No one was ticketed.
