Lori A. Vonderheide and Nathanial W. Merkley exchanged wedding vows at 1:30 p.m. August 15 at St. Peter Celestine Catholic Church. Father Jeff Read officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Gerald and Glenda Vonderheide of Jasper. The groom is the son of Kenny and Lisa Merkley of Dubois. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The maid of honor was Kelly Vonderheide of Jasper. The bride chose as her bridesmaids Celeste Schmitt of Huntingburg, Megan Wehr of Ireland, Jan Beyke of Jasper, Kristen Beadles of Rolla, Missouri, and Abby Merkley of St. Meinrad.
The miniature bridesmaid was Layla Merkley of Jasper. The flower girl was Sophie Bower of Jasper.
The best man was Corey Freyberger of Haysville. The groom chose as groomsmen Dustin Terwiske of Dubois, Brice Kempf of Ireland and Craig Merkley, Keith Small and Jordan Kahle, all of Jasper. The ring bearer was David Merkley of Jasper.
The bride wore a V-neck, ivory, lace gown with beading along the neckline, illusion backing, buttons running down the length of the dress, and a finger-tip-length veil with lace edging. Each bridesmaid wore a gold glitter, V-neck, knee-length dress with a detachable champagne colored skirt.
The mother of the bride wore a floor-length, navy blue, illusion neckline dress with beading. The mother of the groom wore a floor-length, dark red, beaded gown with a scoop neck.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Lauren Popp. The ushers were Austin and Elliott Rothgerber of St Anthony and Bart Kempf of Newburgh. Chelsea Englert and Layla Merkley registered guests.
A reception was held at the Celestine Community Club with music provided by Boogie Tunes Entertainment.
The bride is a 2011 graduate of Northeast Dubois High School. She graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a bachelor of science degree in health services in 2014 and a masters of science degree in occupational therapy in 2016. She is an occupational therapist for Aegis Therapies. The groom is a 2011 graduate of Northeast Dubois High School. He was a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 2011 to 2015 and is a sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves. He is a heavy equipment operator for Knies Construction.
The couple plans to take a trip to Colorado. They reside in Jasper.
