Lois “Jean” Meyer, 87, Arthur

Lois “Jean” Meyer 87 of Arthur, IN, passed away May 23, 2021 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana. Jean was born on May 29, 1933 in Arthur, Indiana; the second of 5 daughters. She remained a proud and lifelong resident of Arthur. She enjoyed camping, sewing, crosswords, and was a member of Arthur General Baptist Church. She never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by husband Albert “Ab” Meyer, parents, Louis and Ollie (Bruce) Sharp of Arthur Indiana, three infant brothers, sisters Beulah Stucy of Arizona, Carolyn Rhodes of Linton, Indiana, and sons Mike Meyer of Stendal, Indiana and Eric Meyer of Winslow, Indiana.

She’s survived by sisters Donna Poehlein of Arthur, Indiana, Rosalee McQueen-Wright of Eddyville, Kentucky, son Larry (Kay) Meyer of Winslow Indiana, daughter in law Roberta Meyer of Stendal, Indiana, two grandsons, two granddaughters, four great grandsons, three great granddaughters, lifelong friend Dottie Drew of Petersburg Indiana, and many other beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Services will be 3:00 P.M. (CST) Friday May 28, 2021 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with burial in Williams Cemetery. Rev. Ralph Newkirk will be officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. (CST)Friday until services at the chapel.

Memorial contribution in Jean’s honor can given to the Arthur General Baptist Church, envelopes will be available at the chapel. All those who wish to honor and remember Jean in person at the service is required to wear a mask for the safety of all those in attendance. Social distancing will be enforced.
