Lois Jean “Jeanne” Neukam, 88, of Dubois, passed away at 10:35 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Eskaton Care Center Greenhaven in Sacramento, California.
She was born June 25, 1930, in Dubois to Ray and Lorena (Seger) Matheis.
She was a graduate of Dubois High School and Lockyear Business College in Evansville.
Jeanne was a secretary and bookkeeper at Jasper Lumber Company for many years.
She was a member of St. Isidore Parish-St. Raphael’s Campus. She enjoyed watching basketball on television, playing cards with family and friends, and most of all her dog, “Muff.”
Surviving are two daughters, Shelley Fehribach (Eric), Jasper and Holly Butler of Elk Grove, California; five grandchildren, Dylan Fehribach, Keila Butler, Leia Grand (Patrick), Slade Butler and Tyia Colfescu; four great-grandchildren, Malia and Mason Tye, and Henry and Violet GrandOne; one sister, Diane Craig, Jeffersonville; one nephew; and six nieces.
Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Vernon (Sherri) and Harold Matheis.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018, at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois with burial to follow in the church cemetery. There will be no visitation before Mass.
A luncheon will be held immediately after in the church basement for family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois.
