Lincoln Amphitheatre is able to apply for specialty plateApril 2, 2014
To the editor:
We recently asked people to sign our pledge petition seeking establishment of a new specialty license plate that would support Lincoln Amphitheatre. Because of your support, we exceeded the 500 signatures required in only one week and were able to submit our request to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles for consideration for 2015 registrations.
We hope we can establish this special plate to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the arrival of the Lincoln family in Spencer County in 1816. At the same time, the new plate would generate additional proceeds that would have local benefit in support of the Lincoln Amphitheatre mission to dramatically tell the story of Lincoln’s formative years growing up here in southern Indiana and the significant impact those years had in forming his incredible character.
I appreciate the support the community has shown and we will be sure to let everyone know if our application is approved. In the meantime, I hope you’ll make a visit to Lincoln Amphitheatre part of your summer plans. If you haven’t visited or haven’t visited in a while, you are missing out on a great family experience and a magnificent local treasure.
