Limited damage in car-vs-deer collision

HAYSVILLE — No injuries were reported after a car-versus-deer collision early Thursday morning south of Haysville.

Craig T. Simmons, 33, Haysville, was northbound on U.S. 231 in a 2007 Chevrolet Impala when the 4:30 a.m. accident occurred 100 feet north of Old Road 45, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy said Simmons was able to drive his car from the scene after it collided with a deer that ran onto the highway from the east.

Damage was estimated at likely less than $1,000.
