Abraham Lincoln impersonator Danny Russel of Indianapolis pretended to cry as he portrayed a difficult moment in Lincoln’s life on Saturday at American Legion Post 147 in Jasper. Russel has been a professional actor for 36 years. Fifteen years ago, his wife, Teresa, suggested he take advantage of his tall and skinny stature and start impersonating Abraham Lincoln. Since then, he has grown in popularity and does more than 300 shows a year as a Lincoln impersonator. “Everyone likes Lincoln. Everyone knows a little about Lincoln and I try to share a little about him,” Russel said.
