ST. MARKS — Stormy weather early Friday resulted in a run to St. Marks by the St. Anthony Volunteer Fire Department.
The department was called to the Brent and Mallory Wendholt property at 6025 S. 500E at 6:14 a.m. Friday.
Fire Chief Scott Uebelhor said lightning from a storm earlier in the morning struck a tree, which resulted in a fire in the trunk of the tree.
Members of the department felled the damaged tree and extinguished the fire.
Four trucks and 20 firefighters were on the scene about 45 minutes.
