Light your basement stairs
December 11, 2018To the editor:
A safety tip: I advise anyone who has basement stairs and who keeps the door closed to them to put some kind of light at the top of the stairs and keep it on 24 hours a day especially if you are having overnight guests who are unacquainted with your home.
My cousin visited her brother-in-law and thought she was opening the bathroom door and fell down the stairs and died. Her sister’s friend was also in a strange house and did the same thing.
I keep a light burning 24 hours a day in my stairway and when I open the door, the first I see are the stairs.
I hope this tip will keep another tragedy from happening to another family.
