JASPER — The Dubois County Local Emergency Planning Committee is planning a tabletop exercise.
Local police, fire, EMS, dispatchers, hospital personnel, hazmat teams, industry, safety and environmental managers and EMA staff are expected at the event set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Memorial Hospital Medical Arts Conference Room at 721 W. 13th St.
The purpose of the training is to increase the ability of responders to manage a hazardous materials incident, according to Dubois County EMA Director Tammy Humbert.
The discussion-based exercise centering on a hypothetical, fixed-facility hazmat incident will allow first responders to discuss an appropriate response, including proper notifications to all necessary agencies.
