LEPC plans tabletop exerciseOctober 14, 2019
From Local Sources
JASPER — The Dubois County Local Emergency Planning Committee is planning a tabletop exercise.
Local police, fire, EMS, dispatchers, hospital personnel, hazmat teams, industry, safety and environmental managers and EMA staff are expected at the event set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Memorial Hospital Medical Arts Conference Room at 721 W. 13th St.
The purpose of the training is to increase the ability of responders to manage a hazardous materials incident, according to Dubois County EMA Director Tammy Humbert.
The discussion-based exercise centering on a hypothetical, fixed-facility hazmat incident will allow first responders to discuss an appropriate response, including proper notifications to all necessary agencies.
Anyone with questions about the upcoming event may call Humbert at 812-482-2202 or Pat Todd at 812-996-5241 or email Humbert at firstname.lastname@example.org.
